An Ode to Moe's

Charlie and I love all things that are good and cheap, but they have to be both, good AND cheap
that is why we LOVE Moe's
(Southwestern Grill for those not in the "know").

I'm talking about this Moe's

Not THIS Moe's

We love going there for a Friday night dinners as much as possible.
It's great because neither of us have to cook, I get chalk-full of all the veggies I want.
And there is a Bangin' Salsa bar that Charlie and I DOMINATE

Now, don't get me wrong, Chipolte is very good, but there are a few differences that must be noted.

1) Chipo charges for chips (Lose one point for cheapness)
2) Chipo has awesome lime chips (Gain one point for awesome)
3) Chipo is more pricey (Lose one point for us being poor)
4) Moe's has a free endless Salsa bar (Gain two points for awesome and us being poor)
5) Chipo was once a McDiabetes (McDonald's) company but has split (gain one point for eco and health consciousness)
6) Moes has good music playing at all times ( gain one point for awesome)
7) Chipo has kick-you-in-the-mouth fantastic quac (gain one point for amazingness)
8) Moe's is a franchized company and they yell at you in a good way (Gain two points for local-ish and a good first impression)

Final: Moe's Wins!!

As much as Chipolte is a treat and I love love love it, Moe's is a better deal for what you get.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't be down for a Chipotle trip any time day or night
(I've been known to have left overs for breakfast)!

Quick shoutout to Pretzel M&M's

OK...

I feel like I'm loosing my mind, I need to get this off my chest
I LOVE Pretzel M&M's. Especially the Christmas ones.

They look like this, only all Red and Green

And they come in a package like this

I just had like 20 of them...

OK, I feel better and the confession is over.

P.S. I was not even hungry....

IS the grass greener on the other side??

Well the time has come, I am on the other side of my 20's!!
As of last Wednesday I am no longer in my "Early Twenties"
AHHHH!!

I celebrated my 26th Birthday on Wednesday with lots of
love and cupcakes from my "newesh" co-workers.
My In-laws, and my sweet Hubs

Charlie and I went OUT ON THE TOWN (ok, just kinda)
Dinner at the always yummy Sitti
and pre-dinner drinks at the Landmark (where Charlie and I met).
It was SO nice being downtown even for a little bit.

We even got a Christmas tree in preparation for the weekend!
I have decided getting a Christmas tree will be a tradition from here on out,
It was such a fun thing to do on my birthday!

Since it was in the middle of the week, and we are  elderly people
and we do nothing on school/work nights anymore,
we saved the "throwdowns" for the weekends now!

On Friday we had a "social" as Charlie called it at our house.
It was nice because after over a year being there,
we still have friends that haven't seen our home yet!
And we hadn't really had more than 5 people in the house at one time,
so a party we had, and it included a decorated Christmas Tree to boot!

here are a few pictures of the crowd!

Mom and I, she was so sweet to come into town, buy a crap-ton of awesome food, talk with my friends, drink wine with me, and then buy us lunch before she left.
I love her.
She Rocks.

Below are some of the great couples that could make it over!

Alicia and Brent

Liz and Cody

Carson and Danielle

Sherry, the one rocking the purple shirt on the far right, made a kick-butt Black-Eye-Peas Dip
That made a TON and she used more cheese, to make it even more wonderful!

I can brag that I gave her the recipe... but she put in the work!

There was also some fantastic Goat Cheese that people probably ate not knowing what it was... but it was awesome too, and we still have some, which is making me kinda slobber as a write this!

Charlie was so wonderful to me on my birthday, here are some pictures of us just because we are vain and rarely have pictures together, since I'm normally behind the camera.

Picture of us and the tree.
We got a smaller one this year, and the trend might stick for a while, it's easy to carry, we didn't need to buy more lights, and it's perfect for our little house!

Similar picture.
Better smile from Chuck
with a little less tree,  lot more McCants.
and everything is better with more McCants...

Even though it was a party for me, Charlie and I happen to both like the same cool people, so there were also a good group of gentlemen there too, plus someone had to drink all the beer..

Charlie is such a wonderful husband that he made a very sweet toast to me and
Sherry got a great picture of it!

All in all it was a great birthday, and I think I might be able to get over this "I'm not a young adult any longer" I'm like an actual adult. Although, when I talk about people that are older than me...

You know I call them "Real Adults"...

Our little boy turned 2!!

Among the other festivities going on around the McCants house, our sweet little Buckley turned two.
Now, when I tell people I have a puppy, I'm sure they assume it looks something like this:

- This was Buckley on the day we got him. He was sacred and sweet, and super worn out at the end of it, we had paraded his sweet tuccus around Raleigh like you would not have believed!-
But I think we ALL know that your 12 year old smelly dog will always be your sweet puppy.

This is Buckley as of this morning. He currently can and will take up more than half of our couch.
Forcing Charlie and I to snuggle closer (extra treats for the Buckley Bear, hehe)
and has been known to barge into our bedroom at 7:00 am for a snuggle sesh.
He was super cute yesterday morning, which is why I didn't get outta bed until about 8:30.
Really wanted me all to himself so he punched and sneezed at Charlie.

What can I say, I think he loves his mommy.

Here is another little run down on Buckley's day yesterday:
Snuggle with mommy (punch and sneeze on daddy)
A little egg yokes for breakfast to add some gleam to the coat
Napped on the couch
Helped mommy get dressed for Church
Had some snacks of lunch  leftovers with mommy and daddy
DOG PARK!!!
Post-dogpark bath.....
Being angry with mommy and daddy
Post-Bath Nap
Dinner
Watch Mommy and Daddy have dinner
Nap until bedtime

I had every intention of making him put on a Birthday Hat and all this,
but I was following his lead and being lazy.
I mean, I was just trying to please him...

After his fur was dry from his bath he was softer than usual... and that is saying
A LOT because he is a soft furred pup.

Gran (Buckley's grandma) looked up cat and dog pet ages and how they relate to human ages. Turns out Buckley is a whopping 24 dog years as of yesterday! He's catching up to me FAST. Dogs do slow down as they get older, but an older and wiser puppy is never a bad thing. We get to sleep a little more these days.

Stay tuned because someone else is having a birthday in the next 7 days as well...
